Elkins Institute

Elkins Institute (EI) has been training mariners and aviation specialists for over 50 years. Elkins Institute is a Commercial Operator License Examination Manager (COLEM) for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Currently, Elkins Institute has over 150 Designated Examiners and Test Sites throughout the United States and abroad.

After a successful examination, Elkins Institute issues you a Proof of Passing Certificate (PPC), as a temporary license, good until the FCC issues their permanent license. These PPCs are also recognized in many countries for non-U.S. residents in the issuance of their own country's licenses, especially in the areas of Marine Radio Operator Permits (MROP) and GMDSS Radio Operator Licenses. We also publish Technical Publications and FCC License Preparation Study Guides, which can be purchased online, containing sample exam test questions and answers.

BFT's CEO is the author/editor of the U. S. Coast Guard (USCG)'s Theoretical Test Pool for GMDSS and the Committee Chairman with oversight responsibility for the FCC and the USCG GMDSS test pools.
